Site-specific program phone numbers can be found in the program brochure below.

After School Programs

The After School Programs are funded through the After School Safety and Education Grants (ASES), parent fees, other grants and State Supplemental Programs. After School Programs are offered at every site. The fees for these programs are based on income and grants. We strive to keep all fees minimal.

The requirements for the programs are as follows:

  • A 20:1 staff ratio,
  • 30 minutes of LitArt - Reading,
  • 60 minutes of Homework,
  • Free nutritional snacks, and
  • Enrichment and recreation.

The programs are open immediately after school every day, including minimum days, and are open until 6:00 p.m.

The most important part of our programs is a very strong academic component. All students must participate in 30 minutes of LitArt reading and 60 minutes of homework. All students and parents must sign a homework contract.

Computer Tutor Programs

Salida Union School District offers scholarships for computer tutoring programs, designed for a student’s individual needs. The program hours are 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and are coordinated with the After School Programs to meet parents’ needs. The program is 90 minutes of intense instruction with 20 students rotating every 30 minutes. The computer tutor programs meet five days per week for eleven weeks. See our programs brochure for more information.
