Child Development Programs Enrollment

  • Available Programs

    Early Head Start Home Base is for children age 6 weeks to 3 years old.  A Home Visitor visits your home one day a week for 90 minutes.

    Early Head Start MJC Center is for children between the ages of 18 and 36 months.  Located at Modesto Junior College West Campus, classes are held Monday-Friday 8 AM to 230 PM.

    Head Start is for children age 3 to 5.  Located at Mildred Perkins, Dena Boer & Salida Elementary Schools.  Classes are held Monday-Friday 8 AM to 2 PM.

    California State Preschool is for children age 3 to 5.  Located at Mildred Perkins and Dena Boer & Elementary Schools - Monday-Friday 830 AM to 1130 AM or 1230 PM to 0330 PM.

  • What to Bring to Your Application Appointment

    Head Start and Early Head Start

    • Prior Income Taxes (1040's, W-2's)
    • Current year Pay Stubs
      • If you have had more than one employer in the past year, bring your last pay stub from each employer that states an accurate YTD
    • Child's Birth Certificate
    • Child's Immunization Card
    • Any other Income sources
    • TANF Letter, Social Security Income (if applicable)
    • Documentation of Child Support or Alimony (if applicable)
    • Unemployment, Disability Benefitss, Workers Compensation (if applicable)
    • Custody Orders (if applicable)
    • Child's Social Security Card (if applicable)
    • Child's medical Insurance Card (if applicable)
    • Proof of Residence (if applicable)
    • Copy of IEP (if applicable)
    • Student Income such as financial aid or a scholarship (if applicable)

    State Preschool

    • Birth Certificate for enrolling child
    • Birth Certificates for all other children in the home (to prove family size)
    • Immunization Record for enrolling child
      • Must be up to date on immunizations for their age
    • Income Documentation for all parents living in the home for the past 4 weeks
      • Pay stubs, child support, unemployment, Social Security, etc.
    • Proof of California Residency - if not located on your pay stub
      • Any bill that has your name and address
    • TANF Letter, Social Security Income (if applicable)
    • Documentation of Child Support or Alimony (if applicable)
    • Custody Orders (if applicable)
    • Child's Social Security Card (if applicable)
    • Copy of IEP (if applicable)
