COVID-19 UPDATE - December 3, 2020

December 3, 2020 -- Message from Superintendent Tosh

December 3, 2020

Dear parents/guardians,

I hope that you and your loved ones are safe, healthy, and weathering the pandemic as well as possible under these circumstances.

Today, the Governor announced a regional stay-at-home order similar to what we experienced in March, with certain exceptions around essential services.  It is important to note, the orders will not impact schools. Guidance for school districts allows those that have already reopened the option to remain open even under a stay-at-home order. School districts will be allowed to conduct in-person and other previously allowed hybrid and small group instruction models without modification.

School districts will continue adhering to the "School Reopening Plans" and follow the safety protocols with guidance provided by the California Public Health Department and Stanislaus County Health Services Agency. These plans provide layers of protective measures, including face coverings, physical distancing, testing, contact tracing, health screenings, and regular cleaning and disinfection. As a result of these safety measures, schools in the county will continue to serve students on campus.

For 1st through 5th grades. the District is providing the opportunity to change the learning option for your child from In-Person Learning to Distance Learning or Distance Learning to In-Person Learning.  If you are interested in changing the learning option for your child, please contact your school office no later than December 11th.  This change will be reflected when students return after Winter Break on January 11, 2021.

COVID-19 has made 2020 a challenging time. However, we will get through this together.

Sincerely,
Twila Tosh
Superintendent
