February 28, 2022, Updated California Health Guidance and Mask Requirements for K-12 Education
Yesterday, governors from the State of California, Oregon, and Washington issued a joint press release announcing that the mask mandate for K-12 schools will expire at the end of the day on Friday, March 11, 2022. Thereafter, indoor mask requirements will move from a requirement to a recommendation. Cal/OSHA is expected to share similar changes for staff members prior to March 14th.
Until Monday, March 14th, all students and staff in California are required to wear masks indoors while at school and while riding the bus in order for districts to remain in compliance with state requirements. We appreciate the support and patience from our students, staff, families, and community members as we move towards returning to normal after a very long two-years of living through the pandemic.
