COVID-19 UPDATE - December 16, 2020

Covid Update -- December 16, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:

Salida Union School District is committed to providing an excellent educational experience and a safe environment for your children.  As you know, Stanislaus County has experienced a significant surge in the number of positive COVID-19 cases following the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our public health experts predict we will most likely experience another significant increase in positive cases due to the upcoming holiday season. In anticipation of a surge in cases and the need to provide adequate staffing, the District has made the decision to transition back to Distance Learning for all students during the month of January.

The District will provide your child instruction through our Distance Learning Program from January 11th through January 29th.  Beginning on February 1st, your child will resume In-Person instruction.  Our teachers will send materials home with your child, including their chrome book, this Friday, December 18th.

If your child is currently enrolled in our Distance Learning program or the Special Education cohorts, there will be no change to their program and they will resume instruction on January 11th.  Our middle school students will remain on Distance Learning until such time the County has moved to the Red Tier for two weeks.

We look forward to welcoming our Kindergarten through 5th grade students back for In-Person learning on February 1st.  We can all do our part to lessen the spread by washing our hands frequently, avoid large gatherings, and wearing a mask.

Thank you for your patience, support, and flexibility during these very difficult times.
